OK I sort of built the library. The wonderful people at Home Hardware in St. Mary’s mostly built the library. I brought the plans in for them to cut out the pieces and they put most of it together for me. I painted it and my guy helped me staple the shingles to the roof and attach it to the pole. I’ve filled it full of books and hoping it gets a lot of use. I saw one of my neighbours checking it out!
If you are unsure of what a mini library is, it is a weather proof structure of any size you prefer, that you install on your property for the purpose of lending books, to your community. Your neighbours can donate as well as borrow. This is the first one I’ve had so I’m not sure how quickly it will empty out. I read a lot and I think I will be able to keep it stocked.
I also plan on adding a Geocache in there, which is another hobby of mine. I’ll be putting a gift card from one of the local stores in it, for the first person to find it.
I’m pretty stoked about it. I used to be terrible at finishing projects, and this is one I can say I’ve completed. It turned out really well!
